Chinese New Year Feast

Feast 1: Day Before Chinese New Year
This is what I walked home to after work on Thursday. A great big feast! Chinese New Year is like Christmas in my family. My mom cooked for half the day to create this feast of nine dishes and a soup dish for four people. It was delicious. 

I wasn't able to make it for the actual day of Lunar New Year, but I know that my mom makes this dish of mixed vegetables (no meat) for lunch on that day. I am sorry that I missed it, but I had to work. Maybe next year I can just take this day off, so I can enjoy that meal too.

However, I was able to enjoy feast #2 at my uncle's, who is a chef. His restaurant is located in Mountain View, called China Cafe.

I admit, I indulged myself quite a bit the last few days, but it was so worth it.
Next week there will be another feast at my mom's where everyone comes to gather there, so I will definitely be stuffing myself again for sure!
