Origami: Slice of Cake Instructions

Hi all! Today I am going to make a Slice of Cake out of paper. This is actually a really simple Origami figure. It is also not made out of one piece of paper, in fact, this cake involves using scissors.

It's really cute, huh?
Slice of Cake Instructions

You can choose any color origami paper for the cake. I decided to make a yellow cake with strawberry filling, so I am going to start off with a light yellow piece of paper and cut it in half.

A real cake is made out of layers. So taking one of the halves, fold it in half to create a guideline for one of the layers of cake. Fold one side of paper to the center. This is going to be the base/bottom of the cake. The other side of the cake, fold it fourth way to the center, this fold with represent the top layer of the cake or vice versa.

Use the cake strips to help measure out the strawberry cake filling.

Then fill the cake with the strawberry fillings.

Then connect the two strips together.

Start folding the edges of the cake to make a triangle.

Now it's time to make the frosting.

Pick a pale origami paper or a white piece of paper and measure it 11 cm by 11cm.

Then fold it in eights. The best way to do it, is fold it in half, then in half again, and again, accordion style.

Then fold the paper the other way in fours.

At the ends, draw a curve and cut.

Then reshape the accordion folds and frost the cake. If it is too big, just trim the ends.

And you have your cake. I decorated mine with strawberries from the last posts.

Good Luck and Happy Wandering Creatively! Alice
