Image
"Inspired by the reminiscence of the past year and the celebration of a new year to come."                                                                                                                                              -em cosmetics- When I first saw this mini-life palette on em's website , I knew I just had to have it. The colors looked gorgeous and it looked perfect for the holiday season with its cranberry and bronzy shades. This palette is limited edition and retails at $29.00, and it comes with 6 shadows, two lip products, and a blush. The products also comes in the travel compact that usually comes with the full size life palette, so all the products are removable.

DIY: Christmas Candles

Image
I have always wanted to decorate my own Christmas/Holiday candles, and I finally did it and I have to say, I am pretty pleased with how everything turned out. Down below, I will list all the things that I have used with their estimated prices.  Each candle costs less than $15, which speaks a lot, since a candle like this can go up to $15 without the candle holder.

Butterfly Origami Series #3: Butterfly For Alice Gray

Image
Okay, okay, I admit it! I like the fact that my name is in it, however, this butterfly was made for another Alice.  A Butterfly for Alice Gray

Lip Glosses: Wet N Wild: Glassy Gloss Lip Gels Review

Image
Hi everyone! Today I will be reviewing Wet N Wild's Glassy Gloss Lip Gels. I'm a huge fan of this brand, mainly because of their super pigmented eyeshadows that cost way less than its value (in my opinion). Product can be found at local drugstores! ~These Glassy Gloss Lip Gels did not live up to my expectations, but they are not horrible. ~

Lip Glosses: e.l.f Jumbo Lip Gloss Sticks Review

Image
This is probably one of my top ten favorite products of eyeslipsface cosmetics. Which is probably why I bought the whole collection. Since they are only $2.00 each, it didn't hurt the wallet at all, which is a major plus!

Halloween DIY Treat: Corny Witch's Hat

Image
I knew that I needed to do something with candy corn, because for me, Halloween is not Halloween without eating at least a bag of candy corn. I know that it is just sugar, but it is so delicious!  As we all know, the packaging to Candy Corn is not very exciting. So I thought why not spruce up the container for the candy to make it more exciting in eating them!  So I came up with using another well-known Halloween element, "A Witch's Hat".

Halloween Look: Mrs Scarecrow

Image
I have always like the brainless scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz when I first watched the movie when I was a child, so today I am going to show you my re-creation of my favorite Dorothy Escort to the Emerald City.

Halloween DIY Treats: Ghosts & Bat Pops

Image
October has arrived, and we all know that October is all about Halloween. So for this month I am going to do just that. Every post is going to be Halloween based!  So, to kick off things, I am going to share with you these cute ghost and bat lollipops that you can make for your kids, or family and friends. If you have time, you can even make them for trick or treaters, since these are very inexpensive and easy to make.

Concealers: E.l.f Essentials Cover Everything Concealer in Corrective Yellow Review

Image
This concealer is a hit or miss for me. Even though I had this product for quite awhile now, I still haven't mastered using it. It seems to not have a consistent application. It will go on nicely one day, and the very next, it will look cakey and dry. I just don't understand it! Is it just me who is having such a hard time with this concealer? Rate: 2.0 out of 5.0 Price: $2.00 for 4 grams Where: Eyeslipsface.com What the company say: This rich blendable cream concealer easily covers under-eye circles and imperfections for flawless looking coverage. Simply dab concealer onto areas you wish to cover for a flawless, natural look! The safe, gentle formula is ideal for all skin types for beautiful healthy-looking skin.

Nails: Sation Nail Lacquer "Of Corset I'll Call You"

Image
This is probably my favorite Baby Pink nail Lacquer up to date. It is just the perfect subtle pink that matches with everything, and the formula of Miss Professional Nail is just wonderful, opaque, and color stays on without chipping for a good week!  Rate: 5.0 out of 5.0 Price: $5.00 Where: Miss Profession Nail's website The thing I like about this nail polish is that there is clear evidence of quality in this polish without a high marked price. It can easily be sold for $8 to $12 dollars, comparable to essie and OPI nail polishes. I am planning to do a whole blogpost about Miss Professional Nail in the future as I get more colors, but today, I will be raving about the one I have.

Lip Balm: E.l.f essential Lip Balm Tint in SPF 15 Review

Image
Rate: 4.0 out 5.0 Price: $2.00 Where: eyeslipsface.com What the company say: This lightly tinted lip balm gives the perfect flush of color for a beautiful, natural look. The Coconut, Grape, Shea Butter and Rice Wax infused formula conditions lips on contact for long-lasting, hydrating comfort. What I think: The quality of this balm are very well-worth over the price of $2.00. It is creamy and applies to the lips with the right amount of thickness (but not sticky) and it keeps the lips moisturized for a good few hours. It also have a decent tint to it as well, but is still sheer. The smell and taste of the product is yummy...a little too yummy at times.  The shade that I have is in Peach. However, it comes in four different shades. The only thing that I do not like is the packaging. I don't like it  when lip balms come in pots because it means, to reapply, you have to re-dip your finger in it throughout the day, and let's face it, our hands are not clean all

Lip Liners: e.l.f Essentials Feather Proof Moisturizing Lip Liner Review

Image
For a buck, this is probably the best steal of the year! I would pay three times as much for this lipliner, because it works as well as the other drugstore brand lipliners who ask for 3x to 5x as much money for the same quality! This is definitely one of the few things in the essential line of Eyeslipsface cosmetics that I 100% recommend! Rate: 5.0 out of 5.0 Price: $1.00 Where: Eyeslipsface.com , Target What the company thinks: Line your lips with our velvety ProVitamin Complex? never-feathering hydrating pigments. These rich liners caress lips with naturally long-lasting color for ultimate definition. Wear alone or pair with your favorite e.l.f. lip products for a perfect pout.

E.l.f Essentials - All over Colorstick -

Image
A multifunctional product that adds a bit of color and shimmer on your face and body. It can be used on the eyes, lips, and cheeks, but I prefer using it as a body highlight. Rate: 2.0 out of 5.0 Price:  $1.00 Where: eyeslipsface.com What the company says: This 3-in-1 Color Stick adds a beautiful glow to your eyes, lips, or face! Get gorgeous color that illuminates and instantly conditions skin for fresh and natural color all day long. Blend anywhere you would like to highlight and brighten like your cheeks and brow bones.

Origami Butterfly Series #2 Alexander Swallowtail Instructions

Image
Hi everyone! Here is #2 butterfly of my Origami Butterfly Series, and this butterfly model is significantly harder than the first one, which is the Traditional Butterfly . There is a lot more steps, a lot harder tiny folds, and takes a lot more time to perfect. I know this from experience. It took me three tries before I was able to complete it, and it took even more practice before I was able to perfect this Origami.

Eye Shadow Primers: e.l.f Eye Primers: Essential vs Mineral

Image
I like both primers, they are both very inexpensive, they both work well, and they both come in convenient application packaging. I prefer to apply eye primer with a wand than any other method. However, I do prefer one over the other. Rate: Both is a close 5.0 out of 5.0 Price: Essential: $1.00, Mineral: $3.00 Where: Eyeslipsface.com , Target

Origami Butterfly Series #1: Traditional Butterfly Instructions

Image
Here is a new series that I have been wanting to do for some time now. It's simple, it's pretty, and it feeds my obsession with butterflies. I think they are the most beautiful bugs in this planet and they come in varieties of colors and sizes. This little series will also make me learn how to fold more types of butterfly origamis. There will be 10 parts to this series. I do hope you will enjoy this little series with me!  For my first post, I will start out with the simplest of Origami Butterflies, the Traditional Butterfly by Artist Akira Yoshizawa, who is considered the Grandmaster of Origami. So what better way to start off a series with a design from the Grandmaster himself. Here is the video I made on how to make this simple, but adorable butterfly origami. I will not be doing a picture by picture origami instructions anymore, because I believe that seeing it being folded, versus pictures and guessing what happened in between, will be easier to follow.

Blushes: e.l.f Mineral Blush Review

Image
Have I already gushed about how much I love Eyeslipsface's mineral line? If I haven't, then...well... I LOVE THEM SO VERY MUCH! And today, I am going to be raving about their mineral blushes, but before I do the review, I just wanted to say, "GO GET YOU SOME NOW!" Rate: 5.0 out of 5.0 Price: $5.00 Where: Eyeslipsface.com

Body Lotions: EcoTools -Sustaining Softness Body Lotion

Image
I really don't know why EcoTools decided to get rid of their lotions, body washes, face washes...all they sell now are tools for the face and body. It sucks because I happen to like their lotions very much. At least you can still find them on Amazon and other online websites (If you are lucky)!  Rate: 4.0 out of 5.0 Price: Varies depending on where you buy. Can range anywhere from $7 to $13 for an 8oz bottle. Where: Amazon  (so if this blogpost got you interested, better get your hand of it fast!)  What the company said : (info found on the packaging) EcoTools™ Body Lotion, thick and rich with natural shea butter, provides long-lasting moisturization, leaving skin soft and supple. This unique formula absorbs easily into skin, leaving a protective layer of moisturizer. Awaken your spirit with a refreshing scent while sustaining soft skin - naturally. What I think: The scent is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is certainly mine. The scent is actually the highl

Origami: Simple Mushroom Instructions

Image
This little 2D mushroom is so cute and easy to make, and the best part, is that you can add your own designs, colors, patterns, anyway you like! All you need is an origami paper of you choice in color, some color pencils or markers or paint, and whatever else you might like to decorate your mushroom with!  Instructions for the origami mushroom:

Art Supplies: Artist's Loft by Micheal's

Image
On my recent trip to Michael's Arts and Crafts (looking for Acrylic Paints and Pastels), I came across this relatively inexpensive brand, called, "Artist's Loft". As if the prices were not ridiculously affordable already, it happened to be on sale as well, "Buy two get one free", and since I was a beginner at using paints and pastels, I decided to jump aboard this deal.  Each set was $9.99, and it all came with a set of colors and a pad of paper. I got an acrylic paint set, a watercolor set, and a soft pastel set. I have used each of these already, however, I only started painting with watercolors and acrylics recently, so I really do not know the difference between qualities of brands, but I do know how I feel about them. Here are my thoughts: I have another set of Watercolors that I had recently bought from Target, and I like them, but these Artist's Loft ones offer so much more! A little bit goes a long way with these. For $10, you sure are getting a

Origami: Slice of Cake Instructions

Image
Hi all! Today I am going to make a Slice of Cake out of paper. This is actually a really simple Origami figure. It is also not made out of one piece of paper, in fact, this cake involves using scissors. It's really cute, huh? Slice of Cake Instructions

Origami: Simple Strawberry Instructions

Image
This little strawberry is so cute, just probably one of the simplest origami there is to fold. When I followed the instructions, and once I had completed it, I was really surprised at how simple it really is. So for those of you that are starting out, here is an origami for you! It's fast, it's simple, and it actually looks like a strawberry, well, a one-dimensional strawberry, but it is recognizably a strawberry. So let's start with the instructions!

Sunscreens: e.l.f Studio SPF 45 Sunscreen UVA/UVB Protection Review

Image
Will you look at that! Sunscreen in powder form! Rate: 3.5 out of 5.0 Price: $6.00 Where: Eyeslipsface website What the Company say: A portable loose powder sunscreen that can be worn alone or over any makeup for key sun protection. Shields against harmful UVA/UVB rays to prevent premature skin aging and sun damage. The soft translucent powder is infused with healthy ingredients such as Aloe Vera Extract, Grape Seed Extract and Vitamins A,C & E to help nourish and soothe the skin. What I think: I really like the idea of having a sunscreen in powder form. One) because it is not oily, and mattifies the face on a hot and sweaty day. Two) It is so easy to apply on, quick and easily over makeup, unlike lotion sunscreens. However, this product gives my skin such a powdery, ashy look that it is almost not worth using. I have to blend in the product very well, and wait until my oils help absorb some of the powder before the ashiness goes away. What others think: Th

Must have: Prismacolor Colored Pencils

Image
I have been eyeing Prismacolor Colored Pencils forever, but they are so expensive. I always wondered why, I mean, they are only colored pencils, right? Then, I saw this beautiful 48-set at Office Max on clearance and knew that it was my chance to finally get it. Even with the discount, I still paid (after tax) about $38.00 out of $75.00. Compared to Crayola, Prismacolor don't break, and are very easy to layer over each other and blend together. I am just so happy that I finally got my hands on some of these pencils, and at such a great price! However, Amazon has this product for a cheaper price! Here are a few drawings that I did using these color pencils! I just love how vibrant these colors are! (About pic) Faerie Child sketch for one of my Projects in Progress (See Page), Shadow Hunters Series. You can see the layers of the different browns I used. (About pic) Werewolf sketch for one of my Projects in Progress (See Page), Shadow Hunters Series. I don't recommend getting the

Liquid Lipsticks: Mirenesse Lip Bomb #4 Glossy Lacquer Stain

Image
A great thing about having monthly beauty subscriptions is that you will get full-size products without paying for the price. The Mirenesee Lip Bomb is definitely one of those products. I got it in my $10-monthly subscription (Ipsy.com) back in October 2012, and I absolutely love it! This product is also $35.00! So I am very greatful to have recieved it for less than $10. However, because of the quality, I am really tempted in forking over some big time cash and buy one or two more of their glosses! This is definitely a high-end brand located in Australia. Rate: 4.0 out of 5.0 (Because the price is outrageuous!) Price: $35.00 USD, If in Australia $39.00 Where: Mirenesse.com , Birchox What the company say: Information found on Mirenesse website. "A Revolutionary colour that combines gloss, stain and lacquer all in one!  A satisfying NEW INNOVATION in lip colour; beyond gloss, stain or lip lacquer. Colour that drenches your lips for a juicy high impact colour that&#

Foundations: e.l.f Mineral Foundation SPF 15

Image
Who would have known that $5.00 can buy you great mineral foundation! Rate: 5 out of 5 Price: $5.00 Where: EyesLipsFace.com What the company thinks: (Taken from EyeslipsFace website) "Our weightless Mineral Foundation will help you achieve healthier illuminating skin. Infused with key Vitamin E for rich antioxidants that hydrate and replenish the skin. Our powder foundations blend naturally into the skin, and are so light that they work with your skin color to create a perfect color match. All of our foundations contain SPF 15 and are mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes." What I think: I really do not know if it makes my skin healthier overtime, since I do not use it everyday. In fact, I do not wear makeup on a daily basis. However, I do love the healthy looking skin it gives to my face. There is a slight glow (not in the dewy way) to my skin, airbrushed, matte, and almost perfect but you can still see your skin. For
