Too Faced Unicorn Tears Lipstick vs. Wet N Wild Unicorn Soul Lipstick

It's Unicorn this, Unicorn that, the Unicorn Craze of 2017! I don't know who started this craze, but I do know that Too Faced Cosmetics' Unicorn Tears Lipstick has been in the fore-front of this trend, and one of the first unicorn products to hit the market.

Recently, Wet N Wild came out with their Unicorn Glow Summer Collection, and in that collection there is a blue lipstick that goes by the name of Unicorn Soul, that strangely reminds me of the Too Faced Unicorn Tears Lipstick.

You know what that means!

Both of them lipsticks are blue with a pack-ton of iridescent shimmer in it. The Too Faced Unicorn Tears has a Purple-Blue/Silver shift, while the Wet N Wild has more of a Green-Yellow/Silver Shift. Besides, the silver shifts of the shimmer, what makes them similar it their pink undertones. When you first apply these lipsticks, initially, all you see is the iridescent sheen, but as time passes (give it 10 seconds), a pink under-tone settles in, creating a pink base. The combination of the sheen with the pink base is beautiful with both lipsticks.

Now that is about all the similarities. The Too Faced lipstick glides on the shimmer better than the Wet N Wild Lipstick, and it also has more shimmer infused in the product. The Wet N Wild lipstick does take a few extra swipes to get that opaque layer of shimmer that the Too Faced one only needs two swipes to accomplish.

Both of the lipsticks are comfortable to wear, but the Too Faced Lipstick does feel more creamy.

I know that all these points give Too Faced the edge for the win, but in my book, the Wet N Wild Lipstick wins hands down, and here is why.

Remember that pink base both of these lipsticks create? Well, these pink undertones also stain the lips, leaving a color that stays on for hours. It so happens that the Wet N Wild Lipstick leaves a richer and more pigmented stain. Since these are not everyday, wearable lipsticks for the average person, the stains are the only thing that is actually wearable. How I wear it on a regular day, is I apply one of these lipsticks on, leave it for a few minutes, wipe off the shimmer, put on a lip balm, and rock the pink stain for the rest of the day. The stains can last up to five hours before fading.

So because the Wet N Wild has the better stain, the Wet N Wild Unicorn Soul Lipstick gets the win. It is also better on the wallet, retailing at $3.99, while the Too Faced Unicorn Tears Lipstick retails at $22.00. So if you have been drooling over the Unicorn Tears Lipstick, the Wet N Wild Unicorn Soul is a great alternative. But move fast, because unlike Unicorn Tears, who is a permanent color to the Too Faced La Creme Lipstick Line, Wet N Wild's Unicorn Glow Collection is only available for a limited time!

So what are your thoughts on these Unicorn Lipsticks? Let me know in the Comments!
