Alexis Bittar for Sephora Collection

Image
This is my introductory piece to Alexis Bittar! I have never heard of Alexis Bittar until his collaboration with Sephora last Holiday Season, where he created a beautiful collection of luxurious makeup brushes. When I first saw the collection my little heart stopped in its tracks with adoration and want. The collection was beautiful! With clear, smooth handles and gold plated details made the brushes look more like jewelry pieces than makeup brushes; which is not surprising since Alexis Bittar is a well known jewelry designer.  The downside? These brushes were crazily expensive and I guess everyone had the same thought because right after the Holiday Season I found these brushes on Sephora's sales page. So I finally got my hands on the beautiful Luxurious Powder Brush and Jewelry Inspired Traval Pouch for half the cost! But was it worth it, even at half the price?

Makeup Brushes: Sephora Collection "Look Color in the Eye Brush Capsule" Review

Image
I initially bought this to be my go-to travel brush set. I was particularly drawn to the brush holder ( capsule ) because of how compact it is, and it would definitely protect the makeup brushes since it is a made out of metal. When I got it in the mail and held it in my hand for the first time, I realized that this capsule is truly the perfect travel-friendly size, and it came with every brush you will need for an entire eye look!

Makeup Brushes: e.l.f Essential Concealer Brush ($1) vs. e.l.f Studio Small Smudge Brush ($3)

One of my must-haves and favorite eye brushes to use is a small defining or detailing brush. Reasons behind that? First of all, it is able to reach into all the weird corners of the eyes, which is very necessary especially if you have narrow eyes. It is also great for lining the eyes, highlighting the eyes and most importantly, it is great at creating intricate designs on the eyes, if you're into that sort of thing. Which in my case, I am. But do you have to pay a lot of money for such a versatile brush?  Heck No! In this post I'm going to introduce to you to two amazing, affordable such brushes and they only costs $1.00 & $3.00.

Makeup Brushes: Kat Von D "Shade + Light" Eye Contour Brush

I have mentioned before in my review on the  +thekatvond    " Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette & Brush" video , that I do not like the casing this brush comes in. It looks like a coffin! It also feels cheap, but what I paid the $29.00  was for the brush and the brush itself makes up for the ugly packaging.

Brushes: e.l.f Essential Eye Brushes Review

Image
On eyeslipsface.com , the company states that their Essential Professional Brush Line are "High-quality, professional brushes".  I wouldn't go as far as to claim these brushes to be the highest of quality, because they are not; they shed, they are not the softest, and their brush-heads tend to fall off the handle. That being said, here are the reasons why I still would recommend them despite all that.  As you may already know, e.l.f has face brushes in their Essential Professional Line, as well as, eye brushes. So why am I not reviewing the face brushes too? Because they are not worth mentioning. In short, don't bother buying them except for the one exception where I will be mentioning further along the post. Now the eye brushes are a different story. If you are just embarking into this wonderful world of makeup and is confused of what kind of brushes you need to start a solid brush set, e.l.f Essential Profession Line allows you to buy a whole range of brus...
