Mascaras: Physicians Formula Eye Booster Instant Lash Extension Kit
~With this mascara, I have a serious love & hate relationship.~
Love: I love the fact that it elongates my lashes to the extreme.
Hate: This mascara can be a fiber fall-out fest if not used with extreme caution and it can easily clump up your lashes.
On the packaging, this mascara claims to be a 2-minute brush-on, life changing, DIY lash extensions with a 24 hr wear. It also claims that "100% of wearers saw the most dramatic lash effect ever experienced with a mascara" and on the long run "100% saw thicker, fuller, longer, more dramatic looking lashes after 3 weeks. (Pics and Claims can be found on Physicians Formula's site.)
With such claims, you know I had to give this mascara a try.

By now I have tried the Instant Lash Extension Kit Mascara a couple more times and am still not enjoying the fiber fall out. This is definitely not a friendly product for sensitive eye or contact wearers, due to the irritation the fibers will cause and the extensions are pretty hard to wipe off.
The brush for the extensions consists of thousands of tiny, fuzzy fibers attached to the base. Sadly, they do not adhere to one another very well, which results to fall-out galore. However, I did learn if you really tape out the excess fibers, like really tap it out, the amount of fall out you get will decrease dramatically, as well as, being careful with applying them onto their lashes. It's time consuming, but its better than getting these suckers in your eyeball.
Another reason to take the time to wiggle the product through your lashes is to prevent clumping from taking place. Clumping, spider-lashes, and uneven coatings are the main reasons I stay clear from layering mascaras like this. The first time I used this mascara, it was clump city with extremely uneven lashes, but learning to be more patient with the application, I found to have miraculous results.
Here is step-by-step transformation of the lashes undergoing each step of the DIY extension process.
The mascara on the other hand is actually pretty amazing. The brush is a simple, curved, rubbered-bristled brush with a good formula that will give your lashes a decent length. So if you end up not liking the extension portion of it, you will always have the mascara.
And the packaging is a beautiful, metallic silver with a red handle. I really like it, especially the weight of the tube. It looks like you paid a chunk of money of the baby, which in reality, $15.00 is a high price for a drugstore item.
So if you want longer lashes, and have the patience to give each eyeball a few minutes of your time, and don't mind a few fibers floating about, than this is the mascara for you. However, for sensitive eyes out there, please use with extreme caution, for this is not for sensitive eyes or even contact wearers (even though I am a contact wearer myself). This can be found at CVS, Target, & Walgreens, retailing at $14.95. If you happen to pick this up, let me know how it works for you!
Happy Wandering! Alice
