[Ole Henriksen] Power Peel Transforming Facial System

I love this facial system. You do see a difference in the smoothness and the brightness of your skin just after one use! Crazy, huh?!

Here's a little background story on how the Ole Henriksen Power Peel Transforming Facial System came about. Ole Henriksen has been known for his incredible skincare and facials at his spa. One of his celebrity clients loved the Facial Treatment so much, she asked for an in-home facial treatment that would give her the same results as what she would get at the spa. So the Power Peel System was created, and I am so grateful for it!

So what does this set consists of? Well, there are three steps with three different products.

Step 1: Almond Polish Facial Scrub.
This step consists of Almond and Bamboo extracts and Oak Kernel Flour. The chunks in the creamy formula will help rub off the dead skin cells leaving the skin feeling super smooth and refreshed. Just be gentle with your circular rubbing, because the chunks are a bit abrasive and can give the skin micro-cuts that you won't see or feel...until the next step 2. (Rub is circular motions for 2 minuets, than rinse).

Step 2: Instant Transformation Lemon Facial Peel
This step consists of a thick, clear liquid of glycol and lactic acids mixed with AHA-rich oranges and lemon extracts (you can smell the citrus). This formula will help smooth the skin and reduce the look of fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration. (Spread a thin layer over the face and let it sit for about a minute or two, but do not rinse after).

(Side Note) Remember the micro-cuts I mentioned you can get from Step 1. Well, if you have any cuts or cracks on the face when applying the peel, you will definitely feel the burn. It hurts, but it's not so bad where you want to rinse it off. Just let it pass, unless you have sensitive skin, you may need to use your own judgement when trying out a facial system like this one.

Step 3: Chamomile Comfort Mask
Now after the 1-2 minutes of having the Lemon Facial Peel on, apply this Chamomile Comfort Mask on top of the peel. This thick-creamy product consists of soothing chamomile and primrose seed extracts that will calm the skin. (Leave this on for about 10 minutes, then rinse.)

Your skin should feel lifted and smooth, and your complexion should look radiant and glowy.

I use this treatment a few days before a special event or a trip, since after using products with glycol and lactic acids, your skin is quite sensitive especially in the sun. So it's best to let your skin heal for a day or two before applying makeup or exposing it too much to harsh environment conditions. After every use, I noticed my skin will stay radiant for at least a week! So I recommend using this power peel every week or every week and a half, to keep your skin looking smooth and fresh. In the long run, it should help with preventing the look of wrinkles and fine lines.

Now, let's talk about the price, because $50.00 for 6 treatments seems a bit out of budget for the average person. However, each treatment actually comes with an excess amount of product. I can stretch one treatment into three treatments! Talk about excess! So really, it is $50.00 for 12-18 treatments, and if you use it every week, it's a 4-6 months supply. So that means you are spending roughly $12.50-$8.33 a month. Not bad if you look at it that way, right?

I do recommend this facial treatment! It's wonderful as a weekly treatment or a once-in-a-blue-moon face splurge. Either way, you will get that wonderful, glowy complexion.

Happy Wandering, Alice!
