Review: Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural "CC" Curl + Care Mascara

From all the "BBs" and "CCs" that have been coming out in the skincare department, to see a "CC" version of it in a Mascara was really intriguing.

For the skin "CC" means Color Correcting, but for a mascara, "CC", according to Physicians Formula means Curl + Care, and Physicians Formula is claiming that this Mascara does not only conditions your lashes, but it also curls them without the help of an eyelash curler, and it was this claim that caught my attention. Not having to always use an eyelash curler before applying mascara?! Heck yeah, I want that! So the really question is, does it really curl the lashes without having to first receive the help of an eyelash curler?

From the description on the packaging, this mascara had a lot of appealing factors to it.

I will list the few that interested me the most: (You can find this on Physicians Formula Website as well)

- 100% Free of synthetic Solvents - coats lashes without breakage and drying.
-100% Natural Biopolymers - Derived from nature to provide clump-free lashes.
-100% Natural Preservatives - Natural system that reduces the risk of irritation.
-100% Natural Rice Protein & Organic Tapioca Starch (Boost Volume) & Organics Beeswax - Provides build able Formula.
-100% Free of Parabens, GMO's, & Synthetics Fragrances.

With a mascara that has such promising statistics, I was expecting a lot from this mascara. I'm not going to lie, but I was expecting this mascara to work miracles. I expected my lashes to be twice as long and thick than my normal mascara, I expected to not have to use my eyelash curler and still get a beautiful curl, and lastly, I expected it to last for 24hrs without smudging.

Sadly, I was disappointed.

The biggest pet peeve for me about this mascara is that it does not set. It stays damp on my lashes, and it weighs them down, so whatever curl I had going on in the beginning is sure to disappear. Also, because the mascara does not set, I can not apply mascara on my top and lower lashes, because they will stick together when I blink, and after a while it gets quite annoying. It also smudges like crazy due to the overly wet formula.

The brush is designed to curl and thicken the lashes, and it does provide some thickness to the lashes, so let's talk about this CurlBooster Technology that is smacked all over the packaging.

On the packaging, Physicians Formula claims, the CurlBooster Technology is a proprietary blend of Natural & Organic Botanicals to help Curl & Care for your lashes which consist of Renewable Biopolymer (creates instant curve & fullness), flexible Sugar Film (sculpts lashes to the perfect Shape), and Aloe, cucumber & Tapioca Starch (nourish & condition to set the curve, curl & fullness).

I love the fact that it has all these nourishing and moisturizing properties in it to keep the lashes healthy, but I find that I still need to use a lash curler to get that desired curl I want on my lashes. So, in conclusion, this CurlBoosting Technology did not work for my lashes.

I am a huge fan of Physicians Formula, but this mascara just did not work for me.
