[BH Cosmetics] Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition 21 Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette

Who is Carli Bybel?

Well...she is a successful, beauty Youtuber and an online influencer with a following of 5.3 Million Subscribers on Youtube and 4.6 Million followers on Instagram. This is also not the first time BH Cosmetics collaborated with her on a palette. In fact, about a year ago, Carli and BH Cosmetics came out with a smaller palette that includes 10 eyeshadows and 4 Highlighters. This new version is the Deluxe Edition that comes with 15 eyeshadows and 6 Highlighters. If you missed out on her last palette, do no worry because 11 shades from her first palette are in this Deluxe Edition, and this palette retails at $19.50. (BH Cosmetics do claim that this price is a limited time only, the original price is a few dollars more. I personally don't think BH Cosmetics will change the price, but we'll see.)

Now, I did do a 1st Impressions Review and Tutorial Video on this Palette. If you want to see my initial reaction, just click on the link provided. You will see in that video, I was quite confused about which powders were the highlighters...it turns out all the square shades were meant to be highlighters. In all honesty, the only shades that work as "face" highlighters are the two larger powders. The other four highlights work only as an eye highlighter, (1) because of their color & (2) because they are pigmented and packed with so much shimmer, they are almost like a frost on the skin. I was obviously not too impressed with the palette in that video.

Since then, I had played with the Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Palette a few more times, and I am quite pleased with most of the shades. The eyeshadows are simply amazing. They are smooth, blendable, and apply effortlessly on the lids. With the darker colors, a little bit goes a long way, but if you accidentally apply too much, it's okay, all these shadows blend out very nicely. I am also pleased that there are a variety of mattes shadows that you can mix with the shimmer and velvety shadows. It drives me crazy when companies come out with palettes with only with a few light to light-medium matte shadows, when in reality, you need at least a variety of matte shadows for transitioning and blending in colors for a proper look.

I also love the bronzy highlighters on the left portion of the highlighter section. The larger champagne-bronze highlight gives the cheekbones a beautiful golden glow where it's not overpowering on the skin, but it still packs quite a punch with the shine when light hits it just right. The two smaller bronze shades are the creamiest powders within the whole palette. They literally feel and glide on the skin like butter! Together they create the most beautiful bronzy beach-goddess eye look!

I am still a bit iffy with the lighter, more frosty stark highlighters to the left of the palette. I don't like how the two bottom-left shadows sit on the skin. They apply a bit heavy, and are harder to blend when compared to the rest of the palette.

Overall, I do think this palette is great. It also has the colors of summer which is literally a few weeks away. So you can be sure I will continue to use this palette for the next few months!
