BB Creams: e.l.f Studio BB Cream Review

e.l.f's BB Cream is one of the heaviest coverage BB Creams I had ever tried. The product is thick and creamy, and can easily pass for a foundation. Even with the heavy consistency, it still blends into the skin beautifully.

It is a bit on the oilier end, so it is perfect for those with dry skin. Unfortunately I have oily combination skin, so I do need to set this with a powder, and even then I would need to blot my face with a blotting paper half-way through the day. Even so, I do enjoy how this product looks on my skin. The coverage is beautiful, dewy and not heavy.
How it looks on my skin (one layer):

You can find this at Target and on the eyeslipsface's website, retailing at $6.00 for 1.0 fl oz. However, you can usually buy it at a lower price due to e.l.f's awesome constant promotions on their site, a reason why I was about to buy two bb creams in two different colors without feeling bad. I love the way it is packaged too, a squeeze tube with a pump, great to get its last drop.

According to e.l.f, this BB Cream is meant to prime, protect, moisturize, and perfect the skin, and is infused with key anti-aging ingredients, such as, Vitamin E, Jojoba, Aloe & Cucumber with SPF 20.

And now for my dilemma with this BB Cream, the color selection. I wish e.l.f would broaden their color range for this product (there are 6 shades available). I bought this product in two colors, Buff & Nude (two of the three lighter shades), and usually in most makeup brands, I am in the nude color range, so I was positive Nude will be the one that matched me the best. Boy, was I surprised to find out that the shade was at least two shades darker than my skintone. I didn't sweat it since I also bought Buff, the shade lighter than Nude, but this was also a little too dark for my skin (although once blended out, the color can pass for my skin-tone). There is only one last lighter shade available on the elf's website, but looking at its pictures, the product looks way to pink and light for me. It seems that there is a huge jump in the color range for this lighter shades.  So if you are a lighter skin tone than me, you may find it difficult to find your correct shade unless the lightest shade is your shade.

In conclusion, I do love the formula of this BB Cream. Besides the needing to blot my face, I find that this BB Cream last on the skin for a good portion of the day. My skin still looked healthy and supple with a nice glow to my complexion. I recommend you trying this if you are having trouble finding a BB Cream with good coverage at an affordable price.

Happy Wandering! Alice
