Tutorial: "How to Define Your Eyes" Kat Von D's Eye Technique Tips
Hi everyone! So, continuing on the Eye Technique Tips from the one and only Kat Von D, today I will be sharing with you on "How to DEFINE the Eyes", the natural version.
All shadows I used for this look is from Kat Von D's Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette, first quadrant of eyeshadows.
Step#1:
Sweep "Base" Shadow all over eyelid and blend.
Base Shadow: Laetus (Creamy Nude)
This is as simple as you get when applying eyeshadow. A base shadow is actually quite important because it is a great help when blending out darker shadows.

Step #2:
Add "Highlight" Shadow to the inner lid & brow bone.
Highlight Shadow: Lucius (Soft Beige)
Highlight shadows are usually the lightest shadow you put on, and is applied on the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes. It brightens up the look, as well as, bring those features out.

Step #3:
Create depth by adding "Contour" shadow to the crease area and along lower lash line & blend.
Contour Shadow: Samael (Dusty Fawn)
Use a smaller, more narrow brush to apply this shadow to the crease line. A smaller brush will allow more precision. Then use a clean fluffy brush to blend out the shadow.

Step #4:
For Natural definition, use a small smudge brush and softly apply "Define" Shadow to upper & lower lash lines along the entire perimeter and blend.
Define Shadow: Solas (Espresso Brown)
This step is basically lining the eyes, but more of a messier, more blended, faded way. Lining the eyes with a darker shadow really helps define the shape of the eyes.

Finally finish the look with tightening the upper lash line with a black pencil liner and plenty of volumnizing mascara.
And the look is complete! Your eyes should look more define. If you want a more intense look, opt for darker shadows, and use liquid liner to line the eyes.
I hope this tutorial was helpful!
Happy Wandering! Alice
