High End vs. Drugstore (Ep.4): Benefit Instant Brow Pencil vs. Maybelline Brow Precise Pencil

The first time I set eyes on the Maybelline Brow Precise Pencil, the Benefit Fit Me Brow came to mind. They both have the same type of brown exterior and cursive lettering on the packaging. So I knew that I had to feature these two in an episode of High End vs. Drugstore.

These brow pencils are actually quite similar in the forms of packing (they both have a spoolie on one end) and the same waxy consistency. Some may say they are a bit too waxy, but I quite like it because that means more to tame my unruly brows.

Now for the differences and there are a few especially if you really look for them.

The price difference is something that we all consider. The Benefit Instant Brow Pencil is at $22.00 with 0.12 oz of product, while the Maybelline Brow Precise Pencil is at $7.99 with 0.06 oz of product.

The Maybelline Brow Pencil is a bit on the cooler side than the Benefit. So if you prefer warm tone colors, you might enjoy the Benefit Instant Brow Pencil more.

The biggest difference is how the brow products apply to the brows. The Benefit's product is a bit soft so it applies quite heavily on the brows, where it looks a bit streaky and uneven, but once you soften it out with a spoolie the outcome looks quite perfect. While the Maybelline's Product has the perfect consistency where it is easy to draw on the hairs without it looking obviously filled and darkened with makeup.

The Maybelline one is definitely the least high maintenance of the two, which is the reason why I prefer the Maybelline Brow Precise Pencil over the Benefit Instant Brow Pencil.

Have you tried any of these two brow products yet? What do you like about them?
