Lipsticks: e.l.f Studio Mineral Lipsticks Review

These lipsticks used to be part of e.l.f's Mineral Line, which no longer exist to my dismay because I quite liked their mineral blushes and foundations. There are several products that e.l.f saved from their mineral line and converted them to their "Studio" line, and this lipstick line is one of them.

These Lipsticks are $5.00 a piece and there are 10 colors to choose from. According to e.l.f these Mineral Lipsticks contain a "blend of nourishing exotic oils, natural waxes, vitamins and plant extracts to moisturize the lips. They are also known to have great color payoffs, they are long wearing, and they glide easily onto the lips."

My experience with these lipsticks are a good one. They are not the best lipsticks I have ever applied on my lips, but they are definitely not the worst either.

The packaging could have been made better, it could have been a lot better. You can really feel the cheap quality when you are twisting up the lipstick. One of the lipsticks even broke on me, and I don't remember being rough with it.

The formula is creamy and slick. It does glide onto your lips effortlessly with decent pigmentation, but to get that opaque intense color, you will need to layer it on. If you have dry lips, it will go on patchy, but the product feels nice and moisturizing on the lips. The color will start to fade from the lips after a couple hours, as well as, the moisturization so reapplication is a must. So remember to carry this around with you if you are intent on wearing the same color all day.

Out of the ten colors available, I have three, and here are lip swatches of all three!

Overall, I do not think this lipstick is worth $5.00. I have other drugstore lipsticks that are better quality in both formula and packaging that costs the same amount. Luckily, e.l.f is always having promotional sales on their website and in drugstores, so if you interested in giving these lipsticks a try, wait for a sale. You may get them up to 50% off!

Happy Wandering, Alice.
