Eyeshadow Palettes: Kat Von D "Monarch" Eyeshadow Palette
The packaging, the shadows, the concept...everything about this Kat Von D "Monarch" Eyeshadow Palette is...PERFECTO!
Let's start this review talking about the concept or the inspiration behind this palette because I am in love with how +thekatvond planned out "Monarch". From the colors of the shadows to the names and the cover, everything all ties together with the "Monarch Butterfly" theme.
"The palette is inspired by the metamorphosis of the butterfly-- which is a symbol of rebirth and renewal." ~Kat Von D~
You will see the inspiration of the butterfly's metamorphism within the names of the eyeshadows. The cover of the eyeshadow palette is a beautiful drawing drawn by Kat Von D, of an amazing, bad-ass skull Monarch Butterfly!
Kat Von D did not leave any details out!

The shadows are your typical Kat Von D's high quality eyeshadow-- "Which is her patented power last, long-wearing formula that is build able, full of drama and infused with antioxidants including rose extracts and vitamins A, C & E to keep you eyelids hydrated and protected."
Every single one of these eyeshadows are superb! They are a intense and pigmented (especially the darker shades), but they are so easy to blend and they all work incredibly well together-- something I have learned to expect from Kat Von D's eyeshadows.
Here are the swatches in quadrants. As you can see from the picture above, Kat Von D's shadows are divided into quadrants with the highlight shadow sitting on top and is quite larger than the rest of its counter parts. They are also grouped with colors that work well with each other.
Please pay attention to the names of each shadow! I just love how the names play out the life of a butterfly in a metaphorical and literal way.

I am so inspired by "Monarch" that I decided to do a whole series with this palette being the star, like I did with Urban Decay's Vice4 Eyeshadow Palette!
So I am excited for those looks to become reality than just on paper or in my head. There are going to be "3 Wearable Looks" (links will be added accordingly) & "3 Creative Looks" (links will be added accordingly)! I am so excited to start planning out these looks & I hope you are excited as well!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Happy Wandering! Alice
